Large
Dog Grant!
For the third year in a row, the DJ&T
Foundation has given SSNA funding to spay and neuter large
dogs (40 pounds or more). Funding is available
to anyone
who cannot afford our prices of $45 - $55. We love to fix
large dogs, because large dogs have large
litters! The majority of dogs entering shelters are
large breed dogs, and they are the hardest to find homes for.
The D&T Foundation knows this and is helping us save lives
through prevention.

We have over 650 dogs and cats on the
schedule for spay/neuter and are already booking into
early December. We are so sorry that we can't
schedule your pets sooner, but the demand is
overwhelming. It's great that people want spay/neuter
services, but the fact that we can't provide
enough is frustrating. Too many puppies and kittens are
born because of the "oops" factor! We
are
working on something that will help resolve this. More
spay/neuter = more lives saved! Watch for
exciting news!

the Date!
Our
fourth annual Pedal for Paws cycling event has been scheduled
for April 12, 2014. Routes (12, 30 and 62 mile) are designed
for all levels
of cyclists, with well-stocked rest stops
along the way. If you would like to join the Pedal for Paws
planning committee, or would like to volunteer the day of the

Clinic Volunteer
Opportunities:
Volunteers are needed at the clinic Monday
through Friday from 7:30AM until 11:00AM. Morning duties
include help with patient check out/in process, cage
cleaning, laundry, packing instruments, sweeping/mopping
